What is the Access After School Program?
The Access After School Program is a free, high-quality program offered at select Downey Unified School District schools. It provides a safe, supportive environment for students in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade to learn, grow, and have fun after the regular school day ends.

What is Access?
A FREE, high-quality after school program in DUSD schools serving TK–8 students in a safe, supportive environment focused on enrichment, learning, and engagement.
Who Can Join?
- TK–8th grade students
- Must attend a participating DUSD school
- Priority enrollment may apply
Program Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- After school – 6:00 PM
- Includes minimum & early release days
Attendance Policy
- Max 28 absences per year
- Attend within first 5 days
- May require re-enrollment if guidelines are not met

Enrollment Process
How to Enroll in Access
Enrollment is completed in three simple steps.

Complete Annual Verification
Sign into Parent Connection and complete your student's Annual Verification.
- Log into your DUSD Parent Connection account.
- Complete the Annual Verification for each student.
- Select "Yes" when asked if you would like information about DFEO programs.
Important: Complete Annual Verification Before Applying
Families must complete DUSD Annual Verification and select "Yes" for DFEO program interest to receive access to 6Crickets. After completing Annual Verification, please allow 24–48 hours for your 6Crickets access to become available.
Open Parent Connection
Families must complete DUSD Annual Verification and select "Yes" for DFEO program interest to receive access to 6Crickets. After completing Annual Verification, please allow 24–48 hours for your 6Crickets access to become available.

Complete Your 6Crickets Registration
Submit your enrollment request through your child's school registration page.
- Select your child's school.
- Choose the Access After School Program.
- Review the program information.
- Select the appropriate session.
- Click Add to Cart.
- In the pop-up window, select your student and click Add to Cart again.
- When the green message "Session added to cart" appears, select Checkout.
- Complete and submit all required enrollment forms.

Receive Your Confirmation
Our team will review your enrollment request and contact you with the next steps.
Once all required forms have been received and your child's enrollment has been finalized, you will receive a confirmation email with program details.
Important Information
Completing the enrollment forms through 6Crickets does not guarantee enrollment in the Access After School Program. Submitting your forms lets our team know that you would like to enroll your child.
Enrollment is only complete after:
- All required DFEO enrollment forms have been submitted.
- Program space is available.
- You receive a confirmation email from DFEO.
